Helpful advice.
If you take a taxi by yourself, be sure to take all of your belongings with you. Don't leave behind your wallet that holds your government ID (and visa extension), your three credit/debit cards, your old student ID, your U.S. driver's license, and 100 Euros in cash. It'll just lead to a big hassle. Trust me.

Hey, sad, sad story.
But at least you didn't forget your recently acquired pet (a small cat named Rocco whom I've never met again). Snif.
Shit! That just reminded me that I -did- forget my pet in the taxi! Snakes sure are hard to keep track of.
aye dios mio !
Hope things worked out for you.

I just caught up on the past month of the shortened-blog version of your life. During my Christmas vacation, I barely had internet access and since I've been back to work I had forgotten to check. Well that sucks about your personal items, but from what I can gather it turned out ok?
Do you remember that time you and Rachel (I think I was just an innocent bystander)HEAVILY burned popcorn in your parents microwave and the stench was horrific for days? I do.
Rosie: yeah, my parents were telling me about the cold weather back home. Crazy stuff! Bundle up. I still don't have a plane ticket home, so I'm not sure, but I'm thinking sometime in early July?
Hejira: It's slowly turning out okay. I canceled all my cards and am slowly getting replacements for everything else I can. And damn, yeah, I remember that popcorn smell! That smell became part of the house. Oh, I miss those drunken nights at my house watching mun2 and the National Geographic Channel. Remember that one episode about the river that dries up and all the animals die?
How could I forget it? It made my heart hurt for days, no, weeks after. I just could never understand why the cameramen wouldn't give the animals some water. :(
