I just played my first game of Spanish Scrabble ever (Escrabble we like to call it). I didn't win, but seriously, how on Earth are you supposed to use an x in Spanish Scrabble? Homie don't play that.
My mom sent me a care package, and I received it this evening. (Weird, the post office here is open until 8 P.M.) I have never been more excited to see Sabritones, Sal y Limón peanuts, Duvalín, and those picante watermelon lollipops in my life! She also sent me that little rope thingee that you're supposed to attach to your camera because I have sworn to never again drop my digital camera. (I did actually drop it again last weekend--drunkenly. I felt horrible. Luckily, it's still working. NEVER AGAIN STARTING NOW.)
I just got paid last week, but I feel like February is going to be a very expensive month. I'm going to carnaval in Cadiz for three (or four?) nights next week. I still haven't bought a costume for that. I did see some in a toy store on my block, though, but they didn't seem -that- cool: a cowboy, a teenage mutant ninja turtle, and a "rock singer" (which means Elvis Presley-like). I'd love to go dressed as a shark, but the only shark costume I could find was for kids. I'll have to try some other stores.
Then, the week after carnaval, we have a week off of work. It's known as semana blanca, and I have no clue why we have it off, but I don't ask questions--I just take my vacations as is. For that week, Lily and I are going to Transylvania in Romania! We just bought our tickets yesterday. It was kind of a spur of the moment thing, but that's how the best trips are planned, I'd say. I was reading Sarah's Europe guide book, and Romania is supposed to be "a budget traveler's haven," so that shouldn't hit the pocketbook too hard.
The only other trip I have planned at the moment is to Budapest, Hungary in June with Sarah. I'm planning to spend most--if not all--of June traveling around, so that should be fun. I'll probably head to the U.S. in late June or early July. The way it's looking now, though, I'll have to spend quite a bit of money on the airfare. I might have to just buy a ticket to New York City, and then buy a separate ticket to Texas from there. It might be nice to spend a few days in New York City, though. Simone has offered her family's apartment, and God knows I couldn't afford a hotel in New York City.
Anyway, it's getting hotter in Málaga, and I'm kind of nervous as to how hot it'll get in the coming months. I may have left Texas, but I don't think I've left the heat at all. We'll see. As one of my students asked today in science class, "What is the meaning of 'hole in the ozone layer?'"

Are you going to have to work at all while I'm there?
I work Mon-Wed, so yeah, but I'm going to ask for a few days off around the 19th-21st. If I were to ask for them off now, they'd forget by then, so I'm waiting on that. And when I do work, I'm out before 3pm, so it's not too bad, considering Spain is dead from 2pm-5pm (siesta!). We'll figure it out.
